Promises - 56 Temptation

Temptation

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

                ~Psalm 119:11

He who conceals his sins does not prosper,
but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

                ~Proverbs 28:13 (NIV)

For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

                ~Romans 6:14 (NIV)

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

                ~1 Corinthians 10:12, 13 (NIV)

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

                ~Ephesians 6:10-11, 16 (NIV)

Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

                ~Hebrews 2:18 (NIV)

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

                ~James 1:2-3, 12 (NIV)

When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.

                ~James 1:13, 14 (NIV)

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

                ~James 4:7

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith-of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire-may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

                ~1 Peter 1:6-7 (NIV)

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

                ~1 John 1:9

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

                ~1 John 4:4
